PRODUCERS THAT ASK FOR LOI BEFORE THEY QUOTE
Many times a producer will demand a LOI before they provide a quote to you in your country.The key is presentation ... The producer needs to know they are dealing with a 58 year old firm (as of 2024) that sells product via GRW Agency offices worldwide, and promotes product on our public web site.
We further have a 58 year client list in our files for different products.
We have an email alert list of 1000 approximate names and email addresses.When approaching producers they must know we are not just looking for a one off quote.They need to know we want to promote their product via the avenues mentioned above and if they provide the product name,specifications, product photo in jpeg photo file, quantities available each month, loading port that we will consider promoting their products via our GRW Agency offices worldwide.ALSO:
Will they do CIF or CNF quotesDo they provide SGS report "from loading" as part of the quoteDo they provide a two percent performance bond against receipt of an at sight LCThey need to understand no cash is paid up front and a non transferable bank LC would be used for commodities.So again, presentation is everything. They need to know we need some basic information now so our worldwide agencies can collect orders. They need to know that our goal is to enhancetheir export orders if they cooperate with us.Non of our buyers will issue a LOI without knowing the price of the goods and all the terms and conditions with a SPA or complete FCO from the direct producer.If this can be presented properly to the producer then of course our goal is for them to provide the necessary information on their product that we asked for as above.If they still refuse to give data without a LOI, then please forget them as our position above is firm and there are producers in your country that will want to work with you if you present it all to them properly..
